The 3Q19 traffic trends have $MCD sandwiched in between Del Taco and Taco Cabana near the bottom of the industry! Yet the new CEO thinks the "old plan is working! I guess the "growth accelerators" should be kicking in soon!

If you liked the "old plan" (BBV2020) youre gonna love the 2020-2023 plan- all paid for by operators to the tune of $500,000+ per store.

Thank goodness for the NOA!

Not mine but worth repeating:

Mcd WANTS

They have carved the Heart & Soul out of this business and ATE it.

They want more kid business, then Fire Ronald McDonald.
They want more family business ,then remove playlands
They want faster D/Ts, then add to the McCafe menu and Add fresh beef.
They want higher Cash Flow, then add Labor to the Dining room to teach people how to use a Kiosk, and do table service.
They want better Operations, then let Operators grow to 20, 30, 40 & 50 Stores.
They want us to give Gold Standard everything, Yet their Communication & Technology is No Standard (total failure)
They want us to give Table Service, yet I would be happy to have people just to give Service.
They want Better Advertising, but Create an Ad Agency from 2 Old Dried Up ones.

The new OPL grill line, will NOT build speed. Will increase MAINTENANCE cost. Get ready!

No worries, massive discounts and give aways coming to save top line sales (rent and service fees)

Mailers
Global Mobile Offers
2 for Whatever
123DM changes
$1 Drink including cooffee
BOGO MCCAFE

Operators will now have to charge for parking, just to break even.

The system is truly BROKEN. Operators are getting screwed while shareholders and MCD execs profit wildly.

There is only one answer- JOIN the NOA

What is wrong with MCD? Heres a partial list;

They have OVER CENTRALIZED control into non congruent units (Field First) making the service fees VALUELESS.

They have lost the American value of competition between suppliers to insure quality, innovation and competitive pricing

They have destroyed Operators equity by forcing them (the Operators) to spend MILLIONS to improve a MCD Asset. This has fostered crippling Operator debt loads.

They have failed to realize that Cash Flow Does NOT Equal Profits. (cash flow eventually turns around on you after depreciation is exhausted)

They have become obsessed with the " Modern and Progressive" movement at the expense of our traditional values.

They have effectively cut off the Operator leg of the three legged stool.

They have adopted a "One size fits all" approach which has made the "MCD Experience" cold and sterile.

They killed Ronald McDonald, the second most recognizable icon in the WORLD!

They have over emphasized stockholders and devalued Operators. They treat Operators like employees.

They do not allow or listen to new ideas that are not their own. They have minimized the Operators voice.

They have pitted Operators VS Operators, and parents VS children to advance their own agendas.

They have become so politically correct that they are destroying the MCD Family atmosphere and experience.

They have become so environmentally obsessed that they have mandated we stop using products that protect our quality and productivity.

They have forgotten the learnings of the past six decades which drove our success.

For these and many more reasons the future looks dim.

Well said.

“I try to invest in businesses that are so wonderful that an idiot can run them. Because sooner or later, one will.”

― Warren Buffett

I’m still trying to figure out who the “idiot” is. Operators (myself) or the company.

Chris K ... The impact he had on organizations (people’s) lives (removing operators from the system) is larger than will probably ever be knowN to everyone in McDonald’s USA. He is a hatchet man that unfortunately has been given the “golden personal financial ticket” being elected CEO for the brief moment. Please don’t let him fool you with the “emotional” videos he has shared. Those are “crocodile tears”. He is not a people person and I hope karma will personally mirror the negative results he has inflicted on this once highly regarded company.

Mr Penny-

Look no further than the MCD Board of Directors to find huge clues to MCDs problems. Research the BOD and you will find that many of them ,acting as MCD BOD members, enriched themselves excessively by supplying services at exaggerated prices to MCD resulting in obscene personal profits. The chairman is particularly guilty of this. Furthermore, as stated by a operator above, Chris K is a hatchet man who cannot be trusted by operators. Ray Kroc once stated that he would NEVER sell services to operators as it was a conflict of interest and would cause licensees to mistrust the company.(see Dynamic Yield et al). GREED by the Board and top management is the answer to your question. The culture and trust by operators to MCD is seriously broken. We need an operator representative on the BOD (and have been asking for 20 plus years) but without results. The stratospheric MCD stock prices are artificial and non sustainable. Buyer beware.

Someone needs to investigate the relationship between Mcd and Systems Capital Corp.

I hope that every operator realizes how Blake has stuck his neck out for the good of us operators and the system. Im sure that MCD would buy him out tomorrow for several hundred million dollars just to get rid of him and destroy the NOA. Everyone owes him thanks and a debt of gratitude. MMGA
