Sad that a major restaurant chain has no bench and has to go outside for a new, inexperienced CEO - Wait - McDonald's USA did that very thing only one year ago - Never mind.
Ells caused this himself by his maniacal obsession to micromanage every detail, rather than investing in and developing people. Just ask the execs MCD sent in when they owned part of Chipotle, Ells froze them all out. Ells needs to GO.
