Then OPNAD lied. They said compensation was only $1 million. Thanks Vickie C

Mcd corp is certainly rolling in the dough. The greedy suits have announced sweeping cost shifts to the operators that will enrich the company and erode operators equity and profits. Some partnership!

wow...add significant costs back to the operators, who have people busting their butts during a pandemic as corp. folks sit at home on zoom calls...disgraceful!!!!

To the commentary about OPNAD lying, that is a stroke of fake news. OPNAD was never told of the contract details between Travis Scott and marketing because McDonald's paid the campaign out of the $100 million corp commitment in April/May 2020. Not even OPNAD oversight was advised. Question was asked and not answered. And as the facts become more transparent, the detail is $5 million to Travis Scott as direct fee and the balance ($15 million) came from his license free use of our brand to promote and sell his merchandise. OPNAD spends $40 million in windows that don't yield 1/5 of what Travis Scott yielded for less.

Opnad, paid no money into the celebrity tray concept. Just followed the process of opnad.
Opnad was told repeatedly times that the final decision makers on the use of the money (100million) would be the corporations CMO and the president of McDonalds USA. This marketing gamble proved out especially bringing in new users & absent users, made McDonald cool again for a short period and for the promotion period gave a great deal to our current customer base.
Let’s not forget the subsidy from the company. For the first time in my career there was as genuine partnership with our franchisor.
They covered the food cost and we covered the rest. First time that franchisor to my knowledge felt the impact of a promotion, since it exceeded all their projections.
I’m sure the other main driver was the nationwide advertised price point that drove the results. It will be difficult to run any similar promotion like Travis Scott in the future.
