What's Up With This Corporate Tweet?

One of Oak Brook's fake Twitter accounts posted a comment about the 2020 McDonald's
mock-up store.

Secrets out: been building a "2020" in Chi to tour & commit Z's into signing on. Interesting timing, talk abt it on earnings call??

@McD_Truth pretends to be a random McDonald's employee but he/she usually ends up picking fights with reporters.

For those who don't waste your time on Twitter - "Zs" or "Zees" is code for "franchisees". Some people use "Zors" for "franchisors"

More pointless reinvestment to improve THEIR asset

As long as McDonald's Operators continue to pay for remodeling McDonald's buildings the McDonald's franchise business model will never make sense again.

MCD went so long with poor leadership righting the ship is becoming nearly impossible. We haven't heard much about Esterbrooks progress of eliminating five hundred million dollars from the U.S.A. P&L and Balance Sheet by 2018. I hope he is still on track. The time has come for the operators to say "no More" until they prove their methods are working and that they are serious about cutting the excessive costs from the company. The operators can't afford it. All of the programs they have thrown at us are simply not working and store managers are frustrated. How long does this go on before the operators dig in their heels and just say NO?

It will go on until no one buys franchises. Until then, just raise service fees to 5% at rewrite.

Our regional manager is beginning meetings with each operator in this region to discuss reinvestments to upgrade their buildings. They know very well that their other recommendations are not producing acceptable returns. It is pretty amazing!!!
