Easterbrook will find a non extradition country to escape to.

He better hurry. Now that he has this ruling he may find it difficult to go anywhere. It will take two years to get to trial. Then he can drag it out ten years.

I don't know if this will drag on. Usually, it's the side with all the money that tries to drag things out until the small guy runs out of steam. And there are usually few eyes on the dispute so it can be allowed to drag on. But, this is different. Both sides are motivated to get a resolution. Easterbrook, so he can get on with his life. McDonald's Corp. wants to get the shareholders off their back.

And the press isn't going to lose interest. Since this involves sex, lies, and naughty cell phone pictures reporters are going to cover every detail. Also, many business disputes are difficult to cover because the details get very confusing. This issue is simple and easily summarized in a short article.

As we know, McDonald's Corp. is very good at knowing when to conclude litigation with a confidential settlement. Everybody walks away with zero revelations about the settlement. Can they do that when the shareholders will want to know what happened?

When there's a confidential settlement with a franchisee the shareholders just want to know it's over. This is different. The board of directors' credibility is on the line.

You think Easterbrook doesnt have dirt on other corporate personnel and board member(s)? This will go to arbitration, at best.

McDonalds knew the misconduct when they gave the settlement. Argueing they knew there was water, just not how deep... isnt a good legal arguement.

Like the assumption of Board credibility.

Plenty of dirt to go around. That's why the BOD wasn't able to take the time to do a proper CEO search and was forced to go with the last man standing.
