McDonald's CEO Greenberg gave that same "turnaround" speech in 1998.

First impression.Lots of fancy talk that we've heard before. No concrete action (except selling 3500 McOpCos) and did not address menu glut or quality product issues. YAWNNNNNN

I think the issue is many operators are more business savvy than corporation gives credit.

Investment is needed, but operators don't want to take on massive debt for innovation - only to find this innovation "reinvented" before a ROI is achieved.

Having just traveled Europe, I love the "look and feel" - the use of technology - which is readily fielded. Yet, STILL remains off the table for operators building or rebuilding today! WHY?
So you rebuild TODAY - but it STILL WONT BE THE RESTUARNT OF THE FUTURE? Then you need to "REINVEST" another $500,000 in couple years on a new store rebuid?

If you don't know what the restaurant of the future is TODAY - then FREEZE the EXPENDITURES TODAY!

"Finally, we will continue to evaluate opportunities to further enhance value for all shareholders."

On the backs of the owners..........

This speech was intended for Wall Street, and contained NOTHING for the Operators.

If Kiosks are working so well in Australia, WHY CANT WE HAVE THEM IN THE US????
I guess the Corp wants us to pay cashiers $15/hour

When the franchisor sells 3500 stores, you know the ship is sinking! OPERATOR BEWARE !!!

Kiosks? Be careful what you wish for.

Refranchising is an industry tend and Wall Street was demanding that McDonald's follow Burger King's lead.

Restaurant company shareholders are no longer interested in being in the restaurant business.

Looks like Easterbrook struck out.
Shares in McDonald's fell 0.5 percent to $97.30 in premarket trading.

Did he even get to the plate?

This was a complete waste of time. As an Operator and as a former Wall Street nerd there was not enough meat to feed a small dog.

Where is the leadership that understands that the Operators are the Great Force that could be unleased. If only they would work in a collaborative manner with the Operators.

My prediction is, we will be looking at 4 CEOs and 4 U.S. Presidents in 4 years if this group does not work with the O/O's.

It is ok to look at the future if you have a plan to make it a reality. Like getting everyone on board, How to finance and a plan to rollout. Anything else is just a Wish.

Frankly I can not Operate my business on WISHES!!

FOR SALE-
3500 stores that the worlds largest restaurant company deems nonviable. Must have deep pockets and a desire to lose money.

We need a OPERATOR on the Board of Directors. We need a seat at the table !!!

Once again, nothing, on how we are going to pay for it, with cash flow and profitability still going down. BK up 6.8, how...oh, I see, higher priced monster sandwich's and drinks.

McDonalds System 1955-2015 , Rest in Peace

Same stuff ,different CEO.

Figures dont lie, BUT Liars do figure.

The operators morale is the lowest Ive ever seen it in three decades. We are rudderless and sinking fast. And I heard NOTHING that will turn us around. Same old same old, like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

Maybe there will be more information on the May 11 webcast?

On the conf call the analysts liked the idea of "summer value" at MCD USA.

Meanwhile, Fight for $15 has dismissed McOpCos $1 wage increase as a "STUNT" and plan to march and protest at this months BOD meeting in Oak Brook.

Can you say "Backfired?"

WHEN will they wake up?? The Menu is 25% Too Big, and we need better new beef cooking and holding procedures to make our beef juicy again.

Also ,stop trying to be all things to all people - McCafe is a failure and Wraps are an operational nightmare.

Shameful...just pure shameful. Announcing bigger dividends for investors at the continued expense of the franchisees isn't news. There is the largest disconnect in the company's history between the corporation and the franchisee. They'll unload corporate stores again to beef up bottom line but their short term "beef" is like what they continue to provide us to sell, nothing any palate desires long term. The fix is still distant and the demise ever present and growing daily. There seems to be this disregard to make a drastic change. Change of drastic measure has a bad taste to company gurus, like the distaste that continues to grow between our business and the customer. Snap out of it. You had franchisees dig their own grave, jump in and now light grows dimmer as the dirt is shoveled on in.

BK, Sonic and Wendys are all UP without a millenial mention ! We need to forget about Chipolte, Panera etc, and return to our HAMBURGER roots fighting BK, Wendys,Sonic et al

Tha lap dogs of OPNAD affirmed the Global Mobile Ordering plan on Friday and are as out of touch with reality as Easterbrook. GMO is a red herring to line the corporate coffers as the operators have to pay for the shareholder distribution. There is far too much incest between OB and suppliers, and the operators are the odd man out!! The moral high ground of the company died with Fred Turner, and the current crowd are killing this once great brand, in which they have no vested interest!!

Let's see. Just since Jan 1, 2015 Oak Brook has forced a Stupid, costly and ineffective "I'm Lovin it" Super bowl promotion on us with no field vote and little warning ; have raised the wage rate unilaterally that we all will have to match sooner or later , agsin. without consultation or warning , and today Easterbrook hangs the operators out to dry while promising shareholders a greater return! Please tell me again how the Operators are PARTNERS in this business? We have been betrayed again.

Two of my fellow operators took money out of their personal account one 150K and one 200K to put back in their business to get their ratios up to the 6 standard.

I am very close to doing the same if I do not have a GREAT second quarter. Probably going to happen.

The McDonald dream is turning into a nightmare.

It's depressing putting 30 years in McDonalds and then having to do this. The two operators mentioned above are good operators that got caught in the MRP craze, me as well.

Talk with your accountant about MRP not your field service manager.

This turnaround is a not so funny joke.

Smoke and mirrors like Vegas.

MCD has priorities that we know nothing about, in my opinion. Plus, they are stupid. What they did with chicken wings was a travisity. That was a great product our customers were looking forward to and someone decided to take this proven winner and purposely screw it up. Their thinking up there is dysfunctional and this is just one example. It seems like in recent years they have wanted to become a instrument of social change rather than a for profit restaurant company. They act like they don't understand that the money to run this company comes from the stores and store operations. It is really sad what they have done. I hope its not too late.

ABSOLUTLEY UNIMPRESSED.

Having left the "System" Thank God and already in another brand. If McDonalds Operators were not funded by McDonalds approved bankers they would NOT get loans from traditional banks to do the absurd reinvestments. Wake up existing Operators or it will get ugly. Nice not coming into Real Estate tax season wondering how to pay. Charade
