Jonathan Maze Recaps the Creation of NOA

"The best thing for the relationship, therefore, would be stronger sales and traffic growth.
That makes the first two quarters of 2019 so important for McDonald’s management and
its franchisees."

That would be good if sales growth is built on transaction growth and not just menu price increases.

Only problem is that the only “TC” growth in McDonalds is unprofitable. We have to find a way to make the growth profitable. Discounting is the only TC driver that has ever worked and it’s getting old.

Ever notice that since MCD is footing 55% of the cost, seating and décor are flimsy, cheap and
ugly? One size fits all is another FAILURE by Stock Price Steve and Clueless Chris K.

MMGA - join the NOA!

It's almost universal in franchising that approved vendors give kickbacks to the franchisor.
In this case, McDonald's pretends to pay 55% but gets some of that back from the vendor. One way the vendor can afford to do so is to cut back on quality.

Richard, that's a big accusation... is it true in McDonald's case? The separation of vendors and creation of the 3 legged stool has helped keep McDonald's out of litigation. If they are receiving kickbacks for all of OUR reinvestments. That's a huge conflict of interest, in my opinion.

Franchising is full of conflicts of interest.

Is MCD taking vendor kickbacks an undisclosed franchise fee? It is mandatory to spend the money and mandatory who you pay it to, but it's not in the FDD?!

Chris K sent out a video recently. I think the message was "we're still moving forward with the plan" and if you have a problem with that, we will replace you with registered applicants... Did anyone else think that?

YEP

I cannot believe he had a registered applicant tell how excited she is about the future of McDonald's she does not have one dollar invested in this business yet. On top of that what in the world was he thinking why would you not have some legacy operators speak. This guy is clueless, even his opening was dumb just wish everyone a happy new year, does he forget we run restaurants that are open 24hrs a day 7 days a week and usually the holidays for businesses owners are very busy not restful, as we are recognizing our employees, trying to take care of customers during busy times when they are out and about, closing out year-end issues. He has no clue about what a franchisee does to operate restaurants.

What am I missing? Which of the articles posted quotes a registered applicant?

It was an internal webcast from Chris K, Richard. It featured a Bethesda RA who did nothing but espouse the company line. Totally Discusting

Thank you, that is disgusting. Registered applicants, company employees, vendors, etc. know nothing about being an actual franchise owner.

And also shows that Chris K. and his minions know nothing about this business.

It was from Bethesda of course. The field VP there will make empty promises to anyone to make themselves known. So probably promised the world to a registered applicant if they did what they did. Have personally experienced from them the “punishment” you receive from not going with the company thought. That’s why they got that position. Another Chris K wanna be. Buy in or sell out.

His Christmas, um...”holiday” message was equally completely out of touch. I kept thinking that this guy could at least use a PR person to help him along, hell even lie- do a photo op somewhere, pretend to join the filthy masses that operate the system he’s clearly contemptuous of or even better yet sacrifice one trip to Aspen or wherever important people gather for “the holiday” to rest and relax, get out here and sacrifice something, anything. Looked to me as though leadership led by being gone on an extended rest and relaxing vacation.

Thought the same for that RA- young, naive but exactly what they’re looking for. Someone said it here, skinny jeans with a smart blazer paired with a flashy handkerchief, prep school educated with a pooffy haircut and the ability to talk for an hour but add nothing. Oh, except when their QSCVP has their hand up thier ass, the puppet speaks as the VP does the ventriloquist work. She’s that in female form. (She’s probably a nice lady, no harm intended- just a symbol of what I see).

Rumors circulated CK was gone. Strange that it went so far so fast but hasn’t happened as far as we can tell. Still believe it’s a matter of time.

Most interesting comment to me was that McDonalds “expected” the NOA? Sounds like Robert Gibbs is at his desk, doing his thing.
