What Do McDonald's Operators Think About Build-A-Burger?

$5.49 for a high end burger? We know that McDonald's prices test products at barely above break-even. Add in the extra labor for cook-to-order plus table service and those stores have loss leaders at both ends of the menu barbell.

If this was expanded or went national we would have to charge $6 + for the sandwich and customers would still turn to the dollar menu. The dollar menu makes any real changes to the system impossible. Were just the low cost provider and expensive, fancy hamburgers wont change that.
