Interesting Contrast in Performance

It’s striking to see that McDonald’s Corporate operating income is up, yet in our field office, TTM Cash flow is down more than 12%.

Then they give themselves credit by saying:
“Systemwide sales growth this quarter is a testament to the power of compelling value, standout marketing, and menu innovation—proving again that when we stay focused on executing what matters most to our customers, we grow.”

Let’s be real, corporate’s growth in sales and operating income hasn’t come from marketing magic or menu innovation. It’s come from raising fees to us on everything. Meanwhile, franchisees are the ones raising menu prices just to preserve some cash and cover the enormous amount of required reinvestments, most of which have no measurable ROI.

This isn’t a sustainable model. We’re losing transactions daily, and squeezing the system harder won’t fix that.

I don’t know what kind of questions analysts are asking on these earnings calls, but based on past performance, most of them seem more interested in cheerleading than challenging the narrative.

Chris K. is the biggest BS artist we have ever had in the system. The Operator Community is paying for all the BS numbers this individual describes. This is a plan to grab the restaurants at a lower price as they financially default and raise the rents. This has been going on for the last few years. Hey Chris K. it is all about results, your statement during BBV 2020....Why is Joe E. and his entire SLT still employed as again US is missing targets for 3 quarters?

This is why they never announce transaction counts unless they are really good. It hides the ticket price increases disguised as same store sales increases
