Thompson: "Increase in Minimum Wage OK With Me"

"You know, our franchisees look at me when I say this and they start to worry: 'Don, don't
you say it. Don't you say we support $10.10,'" Thompson said. "I will tell you we will
support legislation that moves forward."

Are Oak Brook approved unions next?

I hope what he meant to say was "If the minimum wage is increased McDonald's and our franchisees will obey the law".

"Support legislation" is a different thing entirely.

THOMPSON NEEDS TO SHUT UP OR STEP DOWN !!!

I can't believe he said that. He probably has signed pictures of Obama and his family in his office and/or study.

If anyone ever had any doubts over whether Oak Brook cared about operator Profitability, recent events should prove the are NOT on our side.
First, Thompson makes his idiotic comments about minimum wage.(supporting it)
Then, today I was on a Opnad-Coop President conference call where the company people suggested our prices were too high and we would need to cut prices (price fixing?). What great advice to give operators already struggling with commodity cost hikes, minimum wage increases , and Obamacare--- Cut prices. OAK BROOK current management is the enemy folks!
The partnership is DEAD!

What do you expect from a guy who donated $60,000 to Obama??

When will Wall Street wake up and reflect Thompsons stupidity and lack of leadership in the stock price?

Sell baby Sell

This isn't about stupidity. Anyone who's listened to Thompson on the analyst conference calls has to be impressed with his sharpness.

But, it is about experience. We appear to be re-living the Greenberg years where few of the decision makers in Oak Brook have any operational background. They are trying reinvent something they know little about.

In the May 26 issue of Nations Restaurant News, an article titled "Course Adjustment" quotes Don Thompson stating that the 2014 plan (and beyond)is all about increasing TOP LINE SALES and transactions, and NOT driven "based on optimizing profitability".

In other words folks, We are on our own. Thompson could not care less about our profitability, or the effects of Obamacare, minimum wage hikes, Unionization, or rising commodity costs !
