Must McDonald's Get Involved in Every Political and Social Issue?

The suits need to stop addressing Social issues and get back to being a restaurant company!

this is ABSURD

Why? Just, why?

Every second spent on diving into someone else’s problem is a second wasted not marketing burgers and fries. That’s what people want from McDonalds, not social commentary.

Exactly why? So to post and advertise on social media cost money so they used OPNAD dollars? How does this sell more burgers?

Does OPNAD money go to run the MCD Twitter account? If you follow the MCD Twitter feed, it's children talking to children. Nothing more.

The whole idea they now feel the need to announce everything that they are for or against, like they/we are now some sort of true north for morality all the sudden is very patronizing in my opinion. Not a look we should be striving for.

The McDonald's post I saw was on Facebook, not Twitter.

It's on both. And both are "pinned" meaning the subject shows up at the top of their feed for as long as they keep it pinned.

There's a time a place for everything and racial injustice is a cause to have STRINGENT company policies and behaviors to combat it - just as the laws have been doing successfully since the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

I find it strange this need to announce some stance, which should be every companies stance - as prescribed by the law. Hence, it isn't some announcement or monetary donation that makes a difference. It's the actual leadership and policy enforcement that makes the change.

Seems MCD Corporate can only make announcements and give money that's not theirs because they cant practice fair and equal policies in the Central Office. Reviewers only have to look to Easterbrook for that example.

Franchisees have always abided by the law and equally stand against injustice regards of race, creed, color, sexual preference, religion, and now political affiliation.

And during this pandemic, there are a hundred needy causes that could TRULY use that donation - like the thousands of children staying at the Ronald McDonald Houses across the world.

The philosophy of McDonald's has always been, and always will be, 'We're not just on your corner, but in your corner'. Isn't it time, the brand has true leadership that understands the same.

McD should NEVER comment on religious, political, or social issues. This is being driven by the left wing zealots who currently run the company. Political correct pandering attempt , in a effort to distract from the many dozens of discrimination lawsuits now facing McDonalds. Cowardice on parade!

WE are a family restaurant. We sell burgers and fries, not opinions.
