Chipotle Got The Smart People in the Spinoff

This Article discusses the trend to give away free
food during "tough economic times".

But as far as couponing:

"Arnold (a Chipotle spokesman) said discounts
condition customers to think that the food is
worth less than they would pay under normal
circumstances. It also encourages people to
come back only when discounts are offered."

Zaxby's generally charges full price for thier food and don't have a dollar menu or silly stuff like that so they can afford to give away a few small sandwiches but if oak brook had their way we would do a huge food giveaway once a month.

I know first hand that Chipotle gives away more food EVERY day and on special event days than any other QSR. Additionally, the restaurants struggle to cash flow over $100,000 with food cost at 32%. I learned first hand that we have a great arrangement at McDonald's.
