"Subway has imposed a non-negotiable remodel timeline that treats franchisees not as business partners, but as corporate ATMs,” the franchisee association said in a statement.
The average Subway did $490,000 in sales in 2024. It's hard to justify investing $100,000 in such a low volume store. Unless the operator enjoys year over year double digit sales increases the math just doesn't work. .
Zarco is also the excellent Attorney for the NOA. If more cowardly McDonalds owners supported NOA, Zarco could represent us much in the same way as he is representing Subway operators. (And Im also told the NFLA hates Zarco probably because Corporate told them to.)
Subway owners are united and have the guts to challenge their franchisor through the subway owners version of our NOA. Unfortunately, MCD owners are too timid, (or intimidated), to stand up for themselves.
NOA and NFLA have to show lawyers the bait and switch of BBV2020 and the inconsistency of the Franchise agreements. They over step or disregard their own documents. Bad business people are hurting the system.
If you don't join NOA you may as well call your franchise agreement a suicide pledge. Protect your own equity! Join NOA. Literally no one else cares about the investment other than treasure, blood, sweat and tears that your family has invested in your business. If it is actually your business (corporate thinks otherwise)
.69 cents a day is cheap insurance to have a seat at the table! Only thru UNITY (the NOA) will Corporate take operators seriously! If you dont join, dont complain.
Just wait until u see the new “partnering” digital program that will be rolled out mid 2026 at the WWC. If u don’t sign it will be 100% on u soon as it will be nrbes before long and 100%your cost.
Operator projected cost 400k! Yes that’s your projected share, NOT the total cost- YOUR COST!! My org 9 (stores) x 400k =3.6M I am already struggling with GRNT , OMB 2.0 and 20$ per hour !!!!
You guys are certainly the frogs in boiling water aren't you? Every time they make changes to the McDonald's franchise you get further away from any agreements you might have signed under Skinner or Thompson. PJB has an entire army of non-McDonalds' s VPs, each with their own idea on how to change the McDonald's franchise, until it will be nothing but an employment contract. .
So let me get this correct.... Technology $100K per location New Beverages....PS McCosmics Beverages that they closed all the locations. Sounds like a great plan? Never mind the service barriers that are involved. Kitchen Remodels at $400K, where is that money coming from as all we do is give our food away with GMA and or cut the prices on MOP and raise our labor and food costs. We haven't paid off BBV 2020, the never-ending reinvestment project that we are still in. Even better with the BBV2020 construction letters gave McDonald's access to our individual timing results "for a 2-year period to determine the effect of BBV2020. They still have the data stream and now they use it to pit the owners against each other and run BS service contests to focus on demeaning the owners and to send their inspectors out to get us. Help Mr Zarco as the system is out of control going forward out of control.

Subway trying to do to their franchisees what MCD has done to us. Its OUTRAGEOUS that the operators of MCD dont show some UNITY and oppose this!
sounds familiar

BBV2020 was a total swindle and scam. Another one is soon to come regarding kitchens.

Indeed. M D has been quoted as stating that owners are not owners, operators merely RENT the stores !!!
At WWC in Vegas next year, corp will unveil REQUIRED Technology upgrades costing $100,000.00 PER STORE. Required as part of NRBES.
Corp is requiring that the upgrades be LEASED not purchased to finance and spread those upgrade costs!! Preferred Lessors?? Kickbacks??

Thats what the goal is- Employees NOT Owners. Hence the term "Operator"
First, stop calling franchise owners "operators." Get the name right: Franchise OWNER.
NOT according to senior McDonalds officers!!!!
