Corp is panicking. The pajama boys know nothing about marketing except to discount (or give away) food. This was not presented to my coop for a vote. Did OPNAD boot lickers even see it? PATHETIC
The biggest problem with excessive discounting , (that Corp and OPNAD dont seem to understand), is that it tends to cheapen the perception of value in our full price offerings, eroding their sales substantially as customers seek out deep discounted products. Those sales never return.
My cash flow and profitability is down substantially due to all the "value" offerings. Do you think Chris K and Joe E would be willing to cut their salaries or bonuses to the same (any?) degree???
Defending Maze's article: For purposes of this discussion, let's divide news articles into two categories, 1) Breaking news and 2) Investigative Reporting. This article is obviously a reaction to the press release from McDonald's published on Friday (11/22). That's breaking news. An experienced reporter like Johnathan can receive a such a press release and publish an article on their website in ten minutes. And that's the problem. Before the internet, such an article would take hours, if not days, before it went public. As far as including the Owner/Operator side of the story, as Ray Parker Jr. asked, "Who You Gonna Call?" Breaking news doesn't allow for crossed phone calls or hesitant sources. The McDonald's press release includes an extensive quote from an Owner/Operator. Jonathan did not use that quote but it is supposedly "the other side of the story". Investigative reporting takes day, weeks, months or more and due to the pace of the news is becoming pretty rare. And a reporter can't do much investigating if no one will talk to them or everyone wants to remain anonymous. .

Another reason why over 1000 seasoned operators have left the system in the last few years. The only ones making money on this is corporate.

Maze quotes Joe and Chris but does not include ant operator sentiments. Fair and balanced????????????

Why does OPNAD and NFLA support this? Why do they remain silent? We should take a page from the Subway owners and just say "NO" !
"McValue" = "McBankrupt"
